So Friday turned out to be a pretty crazy day. It all started at 5:30 when I got up to meet a few friends over at Mont Ripely to hike a couple of laps. Apparently, they do this every Friday and afterwards there are PANCAKES! I’m pretty sure this is going to become a regular thing.
Anyway, right as I was pulling in the Ripley parking lot I realized that I did grab my boots from the bottom of the stairs. Fortunately we only live about 3 minutes away, so I turned around and made the quick trip to pick them up. By the time I got back it was a little after 6am and I didn’t see anyone in the patrol room so I just started hiking up. As I was approaching Sweet-spot a couple of the guys skied past me so I waited for them to pack their skis and up we went.
The only pack I have that’s designed to carry skis is actually my photo pack. I don’t know if I would have brought my camera if this had not been the case… and that would have been sad.
After skiing a couple of laps I had to duck out early so that I could meet up with my friend John for our xc ski date at the Nara Trails.
Here are some photos from the morning ski session at Ripley. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I will get the opportunity to shoot a little more. The light in the morning is pretty cool and the groomer and it’s lights have a ton of potential. Now I just need to convince the guys to hold still for a 1/4 or 1/2 second.
