Well, while I was out kayaking on Isle Royale a new lens showed up in the mail… Nikon’s 24-70 2.8. I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot much with this lens, however I’m really excited to finally have a nice, fast, standard zoom.
In the past I’ve been working with the kit lens that came with my D70s from a few years back. It’s the 18-70 3.5-4.5. It’s not a horrible lens, and it has taken some great pictures, but it is a little limiting and the autofocus just isn’t as fast as I would like at times.
I see this lens being attached to my camera most of the time. I should have quite a few opportunities this weekend to shoot with the new lens while doing some work for Michigan Tech. I will post some sample pics and some more of my thoughts after getting to use it for a few days.
