Rain, Rain Go Away…

So, it rained today… Yeah, so what did I do?

I got out the camera, flash, a pan of water, and made some images of some water drops. Actually, I made a lot of images of water drops. Once I had my rig and flash setup, I set the camera to continuous and just held down the shutter. Even then I only have about 20 images that I think are decent, and the five you see here are the more interesting of those. In all I took almost 1000 images.

Anyway, just thought I would throw these out there.

Camera settings – 50mm f1.8 @ f8, 1/250, ISO 400, strobed fired with ttl-cord. SB-800 set to manual and 1/32 power. This gave me plenty of light and allowed the flash to recycle fast enough to keep up with the D300 on continuous.

Hope someone finds this interesting.

Later.

These pics are AWESOME man! It'd be fun to stir up a bunch of liquids that are different color and density so that the colors wouldn't combine and then take pictures when rain droplets hit the pan! That's my dorky comment for the day… Keep up the amazing work!!!
