So, this last weekend Mari, Lynn, Mak and myself packed up our shit and headed east for to Canukland. It was time for Winterlude again and we were going to get to spend a whole two days in Ottawa, effectively doubling the amount of time we usually get to hang out with the fam.
I’ll try and make this quick. We left from Houghton at 6pm and drove off into a snowstorm. Just as we are getting out of town the gas light comes on. How far can one go on the reserve… 15 miles, 20, more? Well, we needed to get to Baraga which was 30 miles away, and fortunately we made it. However, while filling the tank I realized that part of the car was falling off. The lower shroud that keeps stuff from getting kicked up into the engine compartment had come off and was dragging. Lucky for us, the guys at the Pines allowed us to put it in a closet to be picked up on the way back.
Ok…now back to the driving. The rest of the trip went off without too many more issues. The snow went away, and the roads cleared up and after a short nap at a Super 8 we arrived in Ottawa. Once in Ottawa it was time to enjoy ourselves…
(It’s late. I have homework. Check back for more pics and more details)
