So here are some pics from our trip out east. All in all it was a good time. Pretty busy, but we had the chance to hang out with a lot of people, eat a lot of good food and just relax. Things got off to a bumpy start. Our plane from Marquette to Detroit was initially delayed, which put us in a position to take a bump and make special flight arrangements. So, in the end we arrived in Syracuse ahead of schedule, both received $300 travel vouchers, and got to try out the luxury seats. Once in Syracuse we headed over to Mari’s grandma’s house where we spent the majority of our time.
Spending time with another person’s family and experiencing their traditions can be quite an experience. For me it was slightly weird. The fact that this is my family, and these are now my traditions really hadn’t set in yet. Truthfully, I don’t think it’s set in now. There’s still this feeling of them and me. Everyone was super nice and easy to get along with, so I don’t think it will last long. I mean I’m just getting to know some of these people, and others whom I’ve know for a little while, I’m just getting to spend more time with. It’s interesting.
Well, off to Burlington. In Burlington it was more or less Mari’s dad’s turn to have us around. We tried to spend as much time out there as we could. We also, had the opportunity to hang out with some of Mari’s friends. One night we went over to Ellen’s and hung out played some games, another night we watched the Patriot’s game, on yet another evening we headed down to church street and got some coffee and walked around. I really like Jason and Laurie. They seem like really good people and I wish them well with their wedding which is coming up in August.
Eventually, we had to head home. This more or less happened without incident. We did miss our connecting flight in Detroit, but only had to wait a couple of hours before catching the next one. Then we drove home from Marquette, took a nap and headed to dinner at the Library with Alex, Justin, Jill and Hans.
