So we had big plans for this weekend. At one point there were about 13 people that were all going to grab their kayaks, jump in the cars, drive to Munising and go for a paddle. As the final hour approached and the weather forecast wasn’t making people feel all warm and fuzzy, people started dropping out. Now, at the time I was kinda bummed out that people didn’t want to go. On the other hand it was only supposed to be in the low 50’s with water temps in the high 30’s, maybe low 40’s. With that combination and some people in new boats, I couldn’t really blame them. Anyhow, it ended up being just Mari and I. Things didn’t go as planned, but we had a good time, did some camping, a little paddling, and just enjoyed being outside. In the end we had to cut our paddle short due to some wind/wave issues. I had a pretty aggresive agenda and the conditions that presented weren’t in our favor. However, we got some good miles in and Mari got out in some conditions that were just a little out of her comfort zone. Thats good for her, a little scary, but good experience. Well, maybe next time.
